Training

The devoted members of Blackwood Fire Company dedicate an abundance of man-hours to training, for the purpose of ensuring preparedness in providing protection to the residents of their fire district and surrounding areas. The rigorous training that these members participate in, contributes to the safety of their fire fighting force and civilians requiring the services of the Blackwood Fire Company. Areas of training include: fire suppression, which includes search and rescue techniques; forcible entry; and fire fighter safety and rescue. Also included in the curriculum is continuous instruction in the areas of emergency vehicle operations, vehicle extrication, surface ice rescue, water rescue, and hazardous materials operations. This continuous and extensive training has resulted in the current high quality operation of Blackwood Fire Company.
